Another female contender for the office of Nigeria's president emerged on Thursday, May 31 2018.
She is Dr Elishama Ideh, a businesswoman, who has made her marks in real estate development and the oil and gas industry in the nation.
She will possibly be contending with President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other Nigerians who will be vying for the office in February 2019.
Declaring for the office in Abuja, Ideh decried the woes that have plaughed the nation for decades and pledged to position the country on the path of progress and prosperity.
She argued that against the dreams of heroes past of the nation who saw flourishing Nigeria, the country has turned out to be a failing entity.
He blamed visionless and corrupt leadership as the reason the country has been stagnant, if not retrogressed for decades.
According to her, if elected president, power will truly belong to the people, and everyone would live a life befitting of a human being.
Ideh vowed to empower anti-graft agencies to tame corruption, adding that she would urgently pursue infrastructural lift across the nation's geo-political zones.
She promised to provide jobs for unemployed, revamp the nation's educational and health sectors, among others, and run a transparent government.
Ideh was born in Lagos state in 1964.
Her father was an officer in the Nigerian police, while her mother was a businesswoman.
Both parents hailed from Ewohinmi in Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State.
She had her early educationi at the legendary Mayflower Primary School in Ikenne, Ogun State, and at the Federal Government Girls School (FGGC) Onitsha, Anambra State.
She thereafter left for the United States, where she enrolled at Bowie State College in Maryland for a degree in Mass Communications.
